Other Arrangements: Closing Performance
Join us for the closing performance of Contract and Release by Brendan Fernandes featuring local dancers Lindsay Harpham [TBC], Mitchell Larsen, and Tatum Wildeman.
Brendan Fernandes is an artist who examines issues of cultural displacement, migration, labour and queer subjectivity through installation, video, sculpture and dance.
Choreographed for his series of performance sculptures, Contract and Release draws on movements, positions and techniques of one of modern dance’s most influential artists, Martha Graham. The dancers are challenged to achieve stillness and the strenuous labour required suggests a form of political resistance.
