Candace Schierling is the Director of Marketing & Communications at Remai Modern. She is also currently serving as the museum’s Acting Director of Development.

Schierling joined Remai Modern in 2022. Since joining the team, she has led major projects including the redesign of the museum’s website, a brand refresh, and an internal communications strategy.

Prior to joining the museum, she worked at Discover Saskatoon as Director, Business Development, where she worked to secure business events in the city, providing vital support to local hotels and businesses, and developed innovative programs to set Saskatoon apart. 

During her career, Schierling has received numerous accolades for her work, including the 2023 Discover Saskatoon Legacy Builder award. In 2019, she was inducted into Meetings + Incentive Travel’s Canada Hall of Fame in the Big Idea category for the V.I.Plane program, and was a 2018 finalist for Innovator of the Year by the Tourism Industry Association of Canada (TIAC).

She has served on several Boards, including Meetings Mean Business Canada, the Meeting Professionals International Foundation Global Board of Trustees (and their Canadian branch as Council Chair), and provided leadership on various advisory and industry executive committees.

Candace lives in Saskatoon with her daughter Parker.
