Remai Modern and Oliver & Bonacini mutually decide to end partnership

For immediate release — April 22, 2022

SASKATOON, CANADA — After nearly five years, Remai Modern’s partnership with Oliver & Bonacini is coming to an end. The contract between the museum and food services provider reached a natural break and both organizations mutually decided to part ways.

O&B operates Shift restaurant on the ground floor of the museum and catering services for third-party events at Remai Modern. The contract between the two parties will end on October 2. In the meantime, Remai Modern is issuing a Request For Proposal for a new food and beverage service provider on April 22.

“We want to thank Oliver & Bonacini for their partnership in the Remai Modern’s first five years. While they leave the museum to focus on their other operations, we look forward to finding a food and beverage provider to support our new strategic priorities,” said Aileen Burns and Johan Lundh, Co-Executive Director & CEOs of Remai Modern. “We consulted extensively with the public and stakeholders on all aspects of the business to create our new strategic plan. We look forward to using that feedback to inform our selection of a new restaurant and catering options.”

All event bookings until the contract end date of October 2 will proceed as planned. For events after October 2, Remai Modern staff will work closely will all clients to provide fantastic options for all food and beverages services. Museum staff is happy to answer any questions related to this change. Remai Modern expects to have a new restaurant and catering provider in place by fall 2022.
