Artist Tour: Louise Cook
Led by Saskatoon-based artist Louise Cook, the tour will take place in the exhibition Views from the Blue House: The Remai Modern Collection. Cook will lead visitors in conversation about works she has chosen to highlight. She will share insights, including her relationships to the works and the artists. In the tour Cook will talk about her painting Field Strategy, (1994), in the exhibition and how it relates to her current painting practice.

Artist Bio:
Starting in the late 1970’s, Louise Cook (b. 1943) maintained a working position in the university’s dept of psychiatry, plus a full-time studio practice, university classes and many Emma Lake workshops with internationally known guest artist and critics.
Her present landscape paintings address nature’s impact on our individual journeys through life with observational changes, and personal meaning attached to time and random seasonal experiences.
Beside numerous provincial touring and group shows, Cook has had over 25 solo gallery show from British Columbia to Ontario. She is represented, Art Placement, Saskatoon and The Art Gallery of Alberta, Edmonton, rental and sales dept.
Her works are found in many Canadian corporate collections, the Sask Arts Board and one former Canadian Prime Minister and Governor-General.
