Artist’s Talk: Russna Kaur

Celebrate the launch of Vancouver-based painter Russna Kaur’s project for the RBC Emerging Artist Series at Remai Modern. Titled it is not easy to find a dark place when the sky seems four times greater, Kaur’s abstract painting extends from the canvas onto the museum wall. Rather than a fixed, singular object, Kaur’s paintings are expansive, unbound and adapt to their surroundings. She describes her process as “exploring how a surface can reveal a narrative that addresses complex personal and cultural histories.”
