Community Screening: SSO Presents Ever, Beautiful

This concert film features two of the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra’s most memorable guest artists from their 94th Season. Making her long-awaited SSO debut, pianist Sara Davis Buechner joined the orchestra on September 21, 2024, to perform Tchaikovsky’s Piano Concerto No. 1. The passionate and emotional first movement is one of the world’s most recognizable concerto openings. The second half features Zoey Roy taking the stage with her hip-hop-inspired spoken word poetry and her piece Ever, Beautiful which was orchestrated by composer Cris Derksen. This performance took place on October 26, 2024.

The SSO first launched streaming of their concerts during the 2020 lockdown. Since then more than 600,000 people in 57 countries have experienced SSO streaming performances. Having garnered a reputation of innovation and remarkable programming, the SSO’s 94th season was its biggest and best yet.
