Youth Art Night

Join us every Thursday from 4–6 PM in the museum’s Cameco Learning Studio. This free weekly program is designed for youth ages 14–20. Our dedicated staff, each with a diverse set of artmaking skills, will lead these art nights. Youth Art Night goes all year long!

This program is free to attend, with no registration required. All supplies will be provided, and we have snacks too!

Each week has a different art activity, and on the last Thursday of each month, we play videos in the background and enjoy popcorn together!

Check out our program schedule below.

Cameco Learning Studio

This spring, youth will have the opportunity to paint designs onto wooden planter boxes inspired by nature. They will also be able to start seeds and use these boxes to grow native Saskatchewan plants. Once completed, youth may take their planter boxes home to use in their own gardens, or leave them in our Cameco Learning Studio to be used outdoors near Remai Modern. These planter boxes will be an additional art activity option during our regular weekly schedule.

The planter boxes that remain at Remai Modern will be added to an urban outdoor garden, featuring native plants. This garden will help create year-round opportunities for the public to engage with art, culture, and culinary experiences. The design, construction and planting of this garden will be done in consultation with an ethnobotanist, Elders, and traditional Knowledge Keepers.

This initiative is supported by the Government of Canada through Prairies Economic Development Canada.
