Picasso’s Ceramic Studio
The Picasso collection at Remai Modern is exceptional in the insight it provides into the artist’s working methods. Accompanying photographs of the working studio allow us to journey through time to witness Picasso’s processes of experimentation, and the ceramics exemplify his confidence in exploring new materials.

Where
Picasso Gallery
Picasso’s Ceramic Studio focuses on a selection of the artist’s ceramics that were donated to Remai Modern by the Fredrick Mulder Foundation in 2014. The Picasso Gallery will be transformed into a working studio where visitors are invited to be bold and experiment through participatory artmaking, or to spend time sitting with his ceramics. Whether Picasso depicted goats, owls or figures from Greek mythology, he did so without inhibition, and with an expressiveness and simplification that embodies the distinct relationship children have with the world.
